An Explanation of the page you are about to visit…

So who are we? Well, that’s what “it’s all true” is designed to answer. However, unlike many “about us” pages, here you can read who we are, and then delete, add, change, expound, and revamp what is written. Every community has its positive and negative qualities, and the truth about anything we are trying to understand must be sought, not by listening only to supporters, but also critics and dissenters. Therefore, this page is designed to be a work in progress description of heemstra – the good the bad, and the ugly. We hope that here, as a community of brothers, we can express our joys, appreciations, blessings as well as our disappointments, critics, and suggestions.

So how does it work? Well, we ask you to follow a few guidelines:

1. After reading this page, if you want to add, change, or delete anything, you can do so by filling out the form at the bottom of the page.

2. A name and email must be submitted along with the contribution in order for it to be posted on the site.

3. While your name will not be directly associated with your specific additions, changes, or deletions, it will be included at the bottom of the page, under “contributors” in order to keep some sort of accountability for what is written and to help visitors of the site know who is behind the descriptions.

4. This is a public page, so be respectful concerning language and private information. While the creators of this site believe in free speech, they also believe in respecting individuals and communities. Censoring contributions will only be done when deemed absolutely necessary.

5. We encourage only those guys who have lived or are living in heemstra to contribute to this page. If you are from outside heemstra, we encourage you to send us your thoughts and comments via the questions, comments, criticisms page.

6. Remember that your experience may be very different from another guy’s experience. Therefore, think twice about actually deleting stuff that’s already written, since it may be true, but just not for you. Since this page is about the heemstra community in toto, it only makes sense that every voice deserves to be heard. If you read something that strikes you as different than your own experience, then ask yourself, “Is this information false? Or, is it just not wholly true?” However, if you feel, in your best judgment, that information on the page should not be there, feel free to strike it from the record.
